DAR ES SALAAM: PRIME Minister Kassim Majaliwa said the Tanzanian government will establish special programs to enable young people who have graduated from higher and secondary education institutions to either be employed or be self-employed.
He said this during his meeting with various Entrepreneurs’ groups in Dar es Salaam at the Julius Nyerere International Conference Center.
“These programs will ensure that young people have access to capital, entrepreneurial education, land, and an enabling environment to participate in their intended activities fully”.
PM said the government will continue to create an enabling environment for various social groups to participate in economic and social activities fully.
He said the government is doing so by recognizing that the Entrepreneurs group is important and a pillar in growing the National economy through their activities.
“You are very important people and you have made a great contribution to the economy of this country. I want to assure you that this Government benefits from you and that is why the government continues to value you and is planning and continue to strengthen your businesses”. We will not abandon you.” He added.
He said that in ensuring that the group benefits, the government has implemented various programs aimed at empowering entrepreneurs in the country, including the implementation of programs to enable citizens to access capital, marketing and entrepreneurship training
Other programs are the National Women’s Economic Empowerment Program, overseeing the establishment of small-scale industries through entrepreneurship empowerment programs, the development of entrepreneurship hubs as well as allocating areas in each Council for agricultural, industrial, commercial, and other important economic activities.
Additionally, PM Majaliwa said the government will continue its drive to encourage and manage the establishment and registration of cooperative-oriented groups and companies, as well as enable them to obtain capital and education on the use of that capital so that they can run their activities reliably.
“Leaders in the council monitor the business trends of entrepreneurs in your areas. If there are challenges, solve them. The goal is to see whether we are achieving success or not; we must know how successful they are.”
In turn, the Minister for Community Development, Gender, Women, and Special Groups, Dr. Dorothy Gwajima, said that she is grateful to President Samia for overseeing his vision of ensuring that he elevates the group of entrepreneurs so that they can go on a long journey to own the Tanzanian economy
