DAR ES SALAAM: The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Professor Carolyne Nombo, has pledged to continue strengthening the collaboration between the Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA) and the industrial sector.

The goal is to ensure that the training provided aligns with the real demands of the job market, both locally and internationally.

Speaking today in Dar es Salaam, October 17, 2025, during a meeting aimed at enhancing cooperation between VETA and industrial stakeholders, Professor Nombo stated that this partnership has played a significant role in equipping young people with practical training, particularly in sectors such as mining, technology-based industries, and strategic projects like oil and gas pipelines.

Professor Nombo explained that VETA currently has more than 80 colleges across the country, capable of enrolling 10,332 students in long-term training programs. Additionally, 65 new colleges are under construction in various districts, a move that will eventually bring the total number of VETA colleges in Tanzania to 145.
