DAR ES SALAAM: THE Minister for Home Affairs Patrobas Katambi has pledged unwavering loyalty and discipline from the country’s security organs in carrying out their duties, assuring President Samia Suluhu Hassan that the forces will continue to uphold justice and professionalism.
The minister made the commitment during the graduation ceremony of police officers and assistant inspectors at Kurasini in Dar es Salaam on Thursday, May 28, 2026, noting that the police and other security agencies would continue to work with discipline and ensure that officers who violate professional conduct are held accountable.
“We will continue to act fairly, without discrimination or injustice, and carry out our responsibilities in accordance with the law and established procedures,” he said.

Additionally, Katambi said police officers remain bound by the oath they take to serve the nation, the Constitution of the United Republic of Tanzania and the Presidency, stressing that the oath does not end even after retirement from active service.
“We retire from duties, but we do not retire from our oath,” he said.
Moreover, the minister called on families, communities and religious institutions to support government efforts in protecting national morals and values, noting that rising moral decay contributes to crime and growing pressure on correctional facilities.
He urged Tanzanians to remain patriotic, respect the law and uphold national ethics, warning that criminals and traitors will always exist in society despite efforts to maintain peace and stability.
