Experts call for action on COP12 ocean pledges

Countries bordering the Western Indian Ocean must translate regional commitments into national laws, budgets and practical conservation measures to protect marine ecosystems and sustain coastal livelihoods, experts have said, warning that implementation remains a major obstacle to environmental protection.
